          KATHMANDU, APRIL 18

          Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has been removed as a lawmaker from the National Assembly after the party that he represented at the Upper House, CPN- Maoist Centre, submitted a letter to the NA on April 9 informing it of Thapa&#;s expulsion from the party.

          Acting on the Maoist Centre&#;s application, National Assembly chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina decided to remove Thapa from the Assembly on Sunday.

          Thapa, following the series of political events consequential to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli&#;s move to dissolve the House of Representatives in December , had joined the CPN-UML defecting his former party.
