          Martha Karua is a Kenyan politician who is currently an advocate of social justice. She is a former long-standing member of parliament for the Gichugu Constituency and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

          In addition, she was Minister of Justice. However, she resigned from this position in April 2009.

          Karua is famous for consistently fighting for the protection of women’s rights and the improvement of the democratic process.

          Born in Kirinyaga District, Karua attended Mugumo primary school, Kabare Girls Boarding School, and St Michael’s boarding school Keruguya.
